lol population's Review of Strike Industries AR Enhanced Lower Receiver Parts with Trigger, Hammer and Disconnector

I have a familiarity with Strike Industries products and a few of there accessories are on my rifles. However, this purchase was made solely on price and being in stock.

So It's a LPK... what makes this one special?

Nothing really... This product is not much of a change from the standard mil-spec LPK which for sale on Optics Planet. Some of them are cheaper than others but I can say with all honesty that this kit isn't any different than 90% of the LPK out there.

So what do I like about this kit and what do I not like?

-Safety Levers-

I like them and I hate them. These do have different look which seems weird but goes well on the rifle. They're a bit sharp in a couple areas and I could see this being and annoyance if you're using your firearm over a long period of time (duty/class/training) and especially without gloves.

-Mag Release-

The button on the left side of the receiver is more aggressive than the standard mag release. I like it.

-Bolt Catch/Release Lever-

Aesthetically I like it but it ends there. The lever catch and release pads are canted out a little farther away from the receiver than I would like. I can see this being an issue of catching on gear and clothing while the rifle is slung.

-Takedown Pins-

They work very well on forged upper and lower, no complaints.

-Trigger-

It's a mil-spec trigger which seems to be slightly less heavy than some of the LPK out there. I am sure you could do some adjustments to clean it up.

Finally, would I recommend this to anyone looking for a spare LPK for repair/etc. Yes. Everything was included and no parts where missing. Why only 4 stars? Honestly it has to be those safety levers and bolt release/catch... The safeties have sharp edges and the bolt release/catch could have some snag points.

I wouldn't pay anymore than $40 or $50 for the kit but for backup parts or a new build to get your rifle going? Not bad... but in the words of Paul Harrell "You be the judge".
