S.A.'s Review of Strike Industries Smith / Wesson MP Shield 2 Round Extended Magazine Plate
Used for 8rnd mags so I could use my shield for shooting events that need at least 2 10 rnd mags., higher round count extra mags if needed or for the range. I prefer the 7 rnd with a pinky extension for carry.
Worked great with no problems with 50 plus rounds from each mag and had no problems with there being a large gap from not using the factory gap extension since I have not modified those to fit yet.
Would be great is you do not want 2 more rounds for a 9mm 7 rnd mag and do not want to pay at least $40 bucks for a 8 rnd mag.
The only problem I had with installing the EMP was the base plate getting stuck at an odd angle. Just need a small screw driver or pen to push into place if this happens.
Some people mention tight fitment with the 8 rnd mags. If the EMP is used on an 8 rnd mag you will have to remove material (about .040") from the factory spacer to fit over the back plate that is added with the EMP.
From the strike industries website.
NOTE: Made for 7 round 9mm magazines and 6 round .40 cal magazines. The EMP+2 WILL work on the larger capacity factory magazines but with a noticeable gap between the EMP and pistol grip. The factory spacer will not fit flush with the EMP without slight modification.
