Most Helpful Positive Review + 5 Plates
These fit like a glove on Magpul Pmag Gen 3 Magazines. I really like having the five extra rounds. As fare as I can tell these will only fit the Pmag gen 3. The FDE color is more on the dark brown side. And the Black is Dark Black. Bothe look good and I have already orderd more of both.
Most Helpful Negative Review Not for 10 round pmags
I bought these to go on some 10 round pmags as I'm in Colorado, where I can not legally purchase or manufacture new magazines with a capacity over 15 rounds, and magpul does not make their own 15 round magazines. Installation is very permanent with not one but two roll pins to hold them in place, m...

by Cody, from OR, United States Written on August 14, 2025
I had three on forty round magazines and all shattered to one side when dropped on the ground. They are cheap, but not effective

Installation was a breeze. Looks great! I haven’t used it yet, I will come back and edit as soon as I put it to the test. Shipping was a bit longer than I expected, OP said it was in stock!? So idk. Anyway I appreciate the price point as well. I guess I don’t have anything else to say as of now.

Extended PMAG plate

by Masterjedihudak, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on January 12, 2025
This is pretty easy to install and adds five rounds to a third gen Magpul 5.56 magazine. My only complaint is with the FDE not matching the MAGPUL FDE color. The black is a perfect match but for whatever reason the tan is not. This is not a deal breaker it's just not a perfect color match. I have ran these on 20 round mags with no issues. I installed 2 more on 30 round mags and also found no problems, with magazines running great. No feed issues with the stock springs made me really happy. These Mag plates made by Strike Industries are much better than the expensive aluminum Mag plates. I've dropped them a few times and they're not moving from the mag. They're very well designed. I do believe they'll wear better over time compared to an aluminum Mag plate that will show scratches after hitting the deck multiple times, reload after reload. A little install trick I learned after the second install was to drop a very tiny drop of soap onto the holding pins to install them without a fight. Just don't use too much or they will slide around to much.
Pros:
  • Easy to install
  • + 5 rounds
  • Great grip texture matches P mag
  • Easier get mag out of pouch
  • Wears better then painted mag plates
Cons:
  • Fde color doesnt match
Best Used for:
  • SHTF AR-15
  • range & target shooting

Cons:
  • Limited to magpul magazines

  • Magpul magazines

Needs a little modification

by Art, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on August 17, 2024
Unmodified, it is almost impossible to install. The latch is too big and too inflexible to slip over the base of the pmag. If you instead use a knife to shave down the catch, it will install much easier and the roll pins will lock it in place. removing the roll pins is a bit tricky, but can be done with a punch or by putting the pins against a metal ledge and pushing down on the baseplate.

I found that in a 30rd gen 3, I was only able to get +3.

Despite the problems, it does allow for +3 rounds and makes it easier to pull from a mag pouch.

Impossible to install...

by trant, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 31, 2024
The instructions were simple and straightforward; but, easier said than done. This slid in only about 95%, and then got stuck. I tried plenty of ways to shimmy it in, but it still won't budge! I used a small nylon-head hammer to tap it in, but the impact made only one side of the mag's spring pop up, making everything even more stuck! After trying again and again for 30+ minutes and constantly getting the same results, I simply gave up. I put back the original magazine baseplate. By then, my magazine was quite scratched up too... So, I wouldn't recommend this item, unless you want to give it to someone to frustrate them. Lol.
Pros:
  • Would look good on your mag
Cons:
  • Easier said than done
Best Used for:
  • Frustrating frenemies
