Reviews & Ratings for Strike Industries M&P 9mm/.40 Cal Magazine Plate
— 6 reviews — Page 1
Installs quickly and easily. I have several full-size mags with the x-grip sleeves so they give a nice full grip with a S&W M&P 9mm Compact (gen. 1). I put the SI mag. extension on a full-size (17rd) mag. and the x=grip sleeve still fits/works with it and the compact. Overall I like it.

Got several of these bumper style base plate extensions for less than $14 each. So far I've made them function on Ruger SR40 and SR9 series, SW M&P40 and M&P9 series, Walther PPQ M2 9mm (may work on 40sw version but I have no way to verify in person). Tried it out on SW SD40VE but the baseplate angle is very different between the SDVE and the M&P so this makes the SDVE look like a pony with one hoof up and back. Functions on the SDVE but looks very weird.
Pros:
Price and Capacity
Cons:
Plastic instead of metal

fun

Got this to work on several different handgun magazines including Walther. Looks like it might work on Echelon mags as well but I haven't tried it yet. So far looks best on Walther PPQ series.
Pros:
Fairly universal
Cons:
plastic
Best Used for:
handguns

This is the best price I could find for a bumper base plate that adds about 5 rounds. The spring doesn't seem to be any thicker or stronger than the SW OEM spring and it's only half a loop longer than the factory one. This fit and functioned on SW MP40 full size mag, SW MP9 full size mag, Ruger SR40 full size mag and Ruger SR9 full size mag. Plus 6 barely with 9mm and plus 5 with 40sw. Additionally I slapped this on a Walther PPQ M1 9mm full size mag. I did have to shave off a little more than 1/16 metal off the ledges on each side that hold the base plate but once I did that it fit just fine. With the Walther it only held plus 5 in 9mm. Overall it looked ok on the SW, looked bad on the Ruger and looked best on the Walther. I will be buying more of these. The description says steel but the only steel in this is a half inch by half inch plate that prevents the bumper base from sliding off.
Pros:
Price and universality
Cons:
Plastic, and look
Best Used for:
range practice

Product came as described. Due to the current environment they took a while but I got them. The install was super easy and I haven’t had any malfunctions. This product was just what I needed and I’m glad OpticsPlanet had them in stock

This mod can be used with the M&P 9/40 C with minimal modification.
To do this;
Remove backstrap key.
Use hand file -
~ 3/5" across the interior of the backstrap key.
~ 1/8" deep, with sloping/tapering toward the magwell. ( less slope for more clearance and speed ).
Good buy. It would be awesome if I did not have to mod my gun but, I cannot be disappointed when the company does not manufacture parts for my stuff. For that, 4 stars. Small engineering change and too easy to fix.
Having said all of that. I hope this was useful and yes. I just bought another one!
Pros:
Price, ergonomics, capacity, ease of install on magazine
Cons:
Not designed for compact but easily could be, extension not flush with rear of grip
Best Used for:
Duty, sport
