Improper size, ridiculous customer service - Strike Industries SI Extended Pivot / Takedown Pins

This is the second pair of takedown pins I have purchased from Strike Industries. The first pair I bought worked extremely well, so I bought another set. The newest set, unfortunately, is defective. The pivot pin is *way* too big to fit in either of my receivers. So I thought I'd reach out to SI and hopefully just get a replacement pivot pin. Not a whole new set, just the front pin.

I have never seen a company demand so much information for an item that costs no more than $7 in my entire life. They wanted me to get calipers out, send them the invoice for this pair of pins, they wanted me to send them an invoice from my previous set of pins which are just fine, they wanted to know the model of receiver I have. It was clear that they were trying to weasel their way out of just sending me a replacement pin. They want me to send this one in so they can "examine " it (see- they will say it fits perfectly fine and then accuse me of lying) and, should they deem the pin to actually be faulty, THEN they'll send out the single precious replacement pin. The amount of time I wasted going back and forth with them, plus the amount of time it would take to ship this stupid thing and then wait for their merciful reply simply isn't worth it. My time is more valuable than jumping through their hoops just to get a cheap part replaced. So, as I told them, I'll just buy another set of pins (from someone else, obviously) and THEN I'll send them the defective pin, and they can just keep it. Since it seems that an item under $10 is so important to them, I'll leave it up to them to decide what they can do with it, but I'm sure your imagination can fill in the blank.
