NCB6's Review of Strike Industries SI Oppressor

I got this item because I wanted to have an option for a bump in the night scenario that didn't involve me getting blasted with my own concussion in my hallways. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. Fit and finish are excellent, and like all Strike Industries items, looks amazing. Installing the Oprpressor was a bit awkward at first, but after a few minutes of playing with the device it became second nature. By default, I have a King Comp on my rifle, and that thing puts out a lot of side blast. With the Oppressor installed, it performed exactly as a linear comp should, directing all of the blast and concussion forward of the rifle and into the bad guy's direction. It also helps if you're shooting in a crowded indoor range, your boothmates will certainly thank you silently, if not vocally.

The only con to this device is that it is a whopping 10 ounces, so with the existing 4ish ounce muzzle device and the Oppressor, you now have nearly a full pound sitting on the front of your rifle. Not a deal breaker, just something you should definitely be aware of, though it will certainly be very apparent after you complete the install. In my opnion, it's a small price to pay for the flexibility this device gives you in turning your rifle from something more suited to an open field weapon to one that allows a more user-friendly CQB weapon.
Pros:
  • Looks great
  • Great for home defense
  • No tools necessary
Cons:
  • Makes your rifle more front heavy
Best Used for:
  • Self defense
  • Tactical
  • Indoor Shooting
