Mont's Review of Strike Industries Ultra Light Pivot/Takedown Pins
Honestly, I'm not sure what the advantage is for these pins versus traditional take down pins. Some of the take down pins have a longer head grip portion for easy removal, which these do not and remove very much like traditional steel pins.
Pros
- They look cool.
- Maybe a little lighter weight? an 1/8 of an ounce different?
Cons
- Aluminum pins with a soft and fragile applied coating paint finish that easily comes off versus a traditional pin with a nitrite or similar coating over a steel pin where the finish is close to bulletproof.
- Softer metal versus steel
