Not what you would expect, not what what i expected. - Strike Industries MFS Extended Rubber Butt Pad

Looking at the stock photos of rubber butt pads on both optics planet and strike industries site, you'd think this would be comfortable and soft, but it's not.

From the pictures I was expecting a nice squishy rubber butt pad but the material they used is very hard, like a shore 90 nitrile oring (your standard black oring is normally 80 shore, i am comparing this rubber butt pad as a shore 90; think of it as 80 as medium hardness for rubber and 90 as stiff hardness.

no matter how i shouldered it, it felt very very weird because the rubber butt pad is rounded outwards rather than being flat or concave and it does not form or squish to your shoulder like you would expect.

If anything, imma cut, shave, and sand away the extra rubber in between the triangles to see if the rubber butt pad squishes to conform with shouldering and allow it to absorb recoil or not to make it more comfortable to hold.

But if anything for 12 bucks it's an item that wouldn't hurt to see if you like it or not. I just was expecting more out of it especially when it comes to comfort. It's just not for me.
