Perfect for muzzleloader

by V.K., from CA, United States Written on February 1, 2023
Perfect for muzzleloader! Typical muzzleloader has effective range 200-250m. So this compact and light 2.5x scope is exactly what needed.
Eye relief is just perfect for .50cal black powder rifle with relatively heavy recoil.
Pros:
  • reticle with 5MOA marks
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Muzzleloader
Would recommend: Yes

2.5x20mm BDC Shotgun Scope REVIEW

by Hunt n Fish, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on September 20, 2018
Well, cant say a hole lot, havent mounted it yet. I will say, for a scope in this price range, it is very clear glass. Its surprisingly clear, and a big plus, is its a glass etched reticle. Ive not used any Sun Optics scopes before, but a local dealer praised them and had one on a 50 cal BMG rifle, that has held up, and it was a rimfire model. Also, not that Im a huge fan of Vortex or anything, but supposedly Sun Optics scopes are made in same facilities as some of the Vortex scopes. Probably the case for many brands. I think if that is the case, that the Sun Optics Glass etched scopes are the better buy, and have a lifetime warranty as well. I wish Sun Optics would make a 1x up to 8x or 2-7x shotgun scope, but this one doesnt look bad. I think 3x is too much for close brush/woods hunting, and Ive had to let some close shots go in the low light because of it. So hopefully the 2.5 will be better, even though its only .5 different in power. Might use one on a muzzleloader too sometime.
Pros:
  • good glass, glass etched, low cost
Cons:
  • not really a con, just wish offered in other variable powers, for woods/brush hunting
Best Used for:
  • Shotgun, Muzzlelader, Rimfire, Close range
