Most Helpful Positive Review Sun Optics Red Dot sight
This sight is an affordable alternative to the AimPoint Micro T-1 red dot. Works just the same and has very good optics. Also comes with a riser as a standard attachment. You have to buy the riser separately for the AimPoint. For the beginner or sportsman shooter, this sight makes sense for the ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Broken after 3 rounds of 9mm
Mounted this optic on a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 9mm and fired 3 rounds. After the 3rd round , the reticle became unstable and disappeared from the FOV. Totally useless at that point.I did like the reticle pattern which was easy to see.

needs better QA

I use my 22lr rifle and the reticle jumps all over and then I took it off and put the Sun Optics on my 556 rifle. After 3 shots of from my rifle the center glass came loose and broke off inside. If they do a little QA stress test before sending out

You can do better...

by CL at Kalifornia, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 10, 2020
I mostly own medium priced red dot sights from $250 ~ $300 such as Bushnell, Holosun, and Hawke.
So I don't believe I'm a brand name red dot Sight snob.

I ordered this Sun Optics sight as it was unique with its red or green colored reticle instead of a typical single red dot.
Thought it may be okay for an airgun.

1. Even with its cheaper pricing, the body construction is on par with higher priced sights.

2. Glass has a purplish tint that the artist formerly known as Prince would love. However, glass is too dark for proper light transmission. I'm guessing the purple tint is required so that both red and green LED lit reticles can be displayed properly.

3. Came with high mount only. For giggles, I mounted the sight on my AR15. But it was barely OK for a 1/3 co witness. But again, this is going to be for an airgun.

4. The threads for the knobs covering over elevation and windage adjustments feels coarse, unrefined. Adjustments were pretty tight to turn.

5. I do like the unique reticle. Can be dialed in for red or green color.

I would not trust this for a self defense firearm. Should be fine if you are using it on a plinker.

Cheers.
