Maverick 88 scope mount
I really recommend this mount for maverick 88 as it fit very well, its really easy two install (less than 5 min) and the price is very good! Its really well made and seem for heavy duty use! Try it!

Looks nice, mounts easy but....
Well made, mounts easy, looks nice but it does not align properly, elevation-wise, with the shotgun barrel. After mounting I set a level on the barrel and one on the mount. Bubble on the level placed on the mount is on the high side when bubble on the level placed on the barrel rail is in the middle...

Does not fit SXP
This does not fit a Winchester SXP. I ended up scuffing up the receiver trying to get it to bolt up.

Great quality for the price
I installed this on a Mossberg maverick 88 and it fits like a glove with no movement at all and it doesn’t affect any of the functions of the shotgun. Looks great and works great. It’s perfect for adding a red dot or scope and doesn’t add and noticeable weight or bill to the gun.

Sun optics saddle mount for Winchester SX4
If you are looking for an easy way to mount an optic to a Winchester SX4 here it is! I am really happy with this purchase! This mount fits perfectly on a Winchester SX4 chambered in 3.5” 12 gauge. Simple installation, remove the 2 trigger assembly pins, slide on the mount and tighten the 2 screws that replaced the factory push pins.

Aim Point Too High
After purchasing this mount for my Browning BPS I Installed it and mounted a Bushnell Red Dot. Upon sighting it in at 25 yards the red dot was out of adjustment and the point of impact was still over 12 inches too low. I do not think the mount is machined correctly for my 1984 vintage Browning.

Doesn't fit 20 gauge
Optics Planet doesn't carry one for the 20-gauge Maverick 88. I bought one for it, however, direct from Sun Optics. It fits perfectly. It's made of steel, not plastic like some. High quality. Red dot optics fits great.
My ratings are for the 12 gauge but based on the 20 gauge that I have. If you have a 20 gauge, go direct to Sun Optics.

Worked perfevtly and installed easily
I was contemplating trying to drill and tap for installation of bases. I came across these saddle mounts, and Optics Planets was the only place stocking them. They arrived ahead of promise, and worked great.
Pros:
- VERY secure.
- Not expensive.
- Installed easily.
- Eliminates drilling needs and possibility of error.
- Uses factory pin holes.
Cons:
- If overtightened slide action of gun is affected.
- Have to be careful shucking shells that pinch pts are avoided.
Best Used for:
- Reflex sights.

Sun Optics Cantilever Rib Mount on Benelli Supernova
The mounting of this product was not without issue. I immediately found that there is considerable vertical flex of the mount because it is elevated a bit above the receiver. With some effort, I finally fashioned a shim of rubber electrical insulating tape that seems to have stabilized the mount. It does seems solid on the horizontal plane, so there should be no issues while in use, but some effort is need to get it properly mounted and aligned. I find the saddle mounts to be preferable, but there is not yet one available specifically for the Benelli Supernova on which I mounted this rail...least wise not one that I could find. I will recommend it, but with considerable reservation.

- Difficult to mount without flex and difficult to align

Finally! A mount that fits!
I own a Remington 870 20 gauge shotgun , and let me tell you, even though the 870 is the Barbie doll gun of the shotgun world, parts for the 20 gauge are still hard to come by;saddle mounts included. Most are just 12 gauge mounts with spacers, which obviously leaves ugly gaps everywhere. This mount though, IT FITS! It actually fits! It's of a quality design and it's also functional.
