Needed a light to put on my 590. I saw this surefire was affordable with a metal body and figured it would handle 12 gauge recoil. Light works great and functions while under the stress of 12 gauge recoil. Only reason it doesnt have 5 stars was the button was a little bit finicky and wouldn't turn the light on sometimes when i first got it. It would flicker and sometimes i would hear the click and it wouldn't turn on at all. It has since fixed this problem by itself and hasn't had that issue since. Building a lightweight AR, this was the perfect size and fit my mount perfectly. Dual lumens was what I wanted, but did not include the remote switch.

My search for the perfect flashlight is over. A simple 2 level light with good power and beam. That it starts on high instead of low is fantastic. No extra buttons, no having to ramp up from a starting low level to get to high. I like everything about this light.

Great flashlight easy to use and quality made. Highly recommend.

I love this flashlight it’s pretty cool I’ve been wanting to get this for awhile now and I’m glad I finally got it. It’s bright and it’s a great addition to my EDC gear. Optics planets you’re the best!

Feels good in the hand. Texture is not slick and it grips well. Button clicks solidly and is covered by rubber. The button depresses easily for momentary use.

Switching lighting modes is simple. High mode is bright enough to see a moderate distance. Low mode is bright enough to see a very short distance and save on battery life.

I certainly would not like to be struck with the face of this thing. It's very solid and the face is designed to increase the ouch factor.

The light is small enough to pocket carry and/or carry in a belt/rig pouch.

I bought SureFire G2X LE Dual-Output LED Flashlight to replace a older Streamlight PolyTac that was stolen. I initially intended to just buy the same model but when I found out that they had moved production of it to China I decided to spend slightly more for the US made SureFire. And I am very glad I did. 600 Lumens is bright! Like spots dancing in my vision for a while after glancing at the beam in a well lit room. I will not make that mistake again, especially in the dark. As well as being brighter, it seems to have more metal in its construction than my old light, it seems heavier / denser. The 15 lumen option is very nice when you just need some general illumination and it switches between the two modes at a very intuitive interval in both momentary-on and continuous.
My complaints about the G2X are very small, not enough to reduce the rating even a half-star. The first is that the anti-roll flats could be a bit more aggressive. It rolls quite easily on a flat desk and I do not think it would stay on, say a car hood. Seems to be more optimized to feel smooth in the hand. The tail-cap switch also seems a bit stiff when going to continuous on. You have to get your thumb just right to be able to push the button deep. This may be a good thing in some situation. Finally, the G2X it does have a "strike bezel" on its face. But it is so low profile as to be kinda silly. I guess current fashion dictates its presence.

I was using a light made probably in China. The tail cap failed multiple times, and it finally just gave out. I replaced it with a Surefire, I owned one that I gave my wife probably 10 years ago, a Defender, pre-LED, all we have done with it is put batteries in when needed, I had another that I left in a Hotel room, lost that one. This G2X LE is perfect for my needs. I do Church Security and it meets all of my needs, lightweight and powerful. The 15 lumen setting saves the battery. Good job Surefire.

Let me start off the price for something this strong and reliable is outstanding! Perfect for every day use, or of course reason why I bought it was to go with my WASR-10. Small,reliable,and strong! A must have!

This model starts in the bright (high intensity) mode on the first click and the second push of the button buttons up low intensity mode. Click on/off tail cap is an improvement over the old twist style. It is exactly what I wanted.
