I have 3 edc flashlights. The first 2 are on the cheaper side $20-$30. I recently bought the surefire 600 lumen tactical flashlight and the difference in quality and how strong the beam and flood are don’t compare in comparison with the other two. It definitely lights up a room or a hallway for that matter. You get what you pay for. The surefire flashlight is awesome. Just tap it for quick on and off or press it to keep it on. If the lights were to go out I feel confident knowing I have a surefire flashlight. The only con would be no clip attachment for your pocket.
Pros:
- Strong beam and wide flood. Can
Best Used for:
- Everyday carry,camping,car,lights go out,etc

Surefire g2x is a nice little flashlight that has good power/lumens, grip, and small enough to fit into a pocket. Love the always bright tactical model over the bright/low light models.

Best flashlight value for both weapon mount and hand use. Absolutely reliable, very bright, long lasting battery life, lightweight, and moderately priced.

Grab a 1" light mount and this thing works perfectly for the role of a cost effective close quarters WML.
It's been rock solid on a ZPAP M70, which is so overgassed it yeets steel casings like secondary bullets, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Haven't had to replace the battery in a long, long while either with some sparing use during courses of fire.

It’s bright, durable, lightweight, and can be easily mounted on a rifle or shotgun. It is definitely no-frills, which is exactly what I wanted. It does not come with any mounting hardware — it’s just a flashlight. And unfortunately it doesn’t allow for the fancy micro-USB batteries. But given the price, I can’t knock it for any reason.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- durable
- Inexpensive
- bright
Cons:
- Minimalistic
- requires third party mounts

Really solid and bright. This is my third one. Have one mounted on my pump shotgun even though its not marketed as a weapon light. Out in the dark at the woods edge it seems to turn night to day. Lots of practice and many rounds later the recoil has not affected it. I got a CG&G mount ring for this new one so I can switch it between a couple of carbines or use it as a stand alone light. Gave one to my son who works at night. He loves it.
Pros:
- Solid tough very positive switch very bright
Cons:
- If used as weapon light not the smallest choice. No remote switch must mount where reachable

I picked this light over several other options. Usually people go for the highest lumens they can get. To me this is the sweet spot where you’re not getting to much blow back. I feel this application is best for cars and CQB.
Pros:
- Price
- reliability
- Right amount of lumens
