Diamond's Review of SureFire R1 Lawman Rechargeable Variable-Output LED Flashlight,1000 Lumens
Size:First off this light is a duty sized light. If you are looking for an edc light, or a concealable tactical light there are better options Surefire offers to better fit your needs. This is a large light and unless you are wearing a large over shirt there is no concealing it and it will draw attention. However, I have and do conceal it with an over shirt on occasion. It is the perfect size light for a duty belt not to big and not to small.
Holster:I ordered a kydex holster from Multi Holsters. It was the only holster available at the time and it works great. the only down side is the light has to be carried bezel up. It has a blade tech tech lok clip for your belt which is top of the line.
brightness: this light is insanely bright, out shines the HighBeam headlights on my vehicle. It easily will light up threats/items at 100 yards away and more. It has a nice centered hot spot with a good amount of spill. The low output is perfect for reading or looking at items up close. the Med out put is good for general use and the high output will quickly overcome anyone eyesight even in the day or indoors. I recently had a crowd of individuals surround my family after the 4th of July fireworks protesting/preaching there cause and the 1,000 lumen strobe quickly made the 15 to 20 individuals disperse in confusion without me having to say a single word and avoiding a confrontation.
I have only had the light for a little over a month and have not yet needed to re-charge it. So I cannot say much about its durability and i am not about to do a torch er test on a $500 flashlight but from what i have seen from this light and from other surefire lights I own I will trust my life to this light any day.
