great outdoor alternative to earmuff style
Involved in a fair number or loud outdoor activities that require hearing protection. The noise reduction is even adequate for all handguns, shotguns and most rifles. The orange color makes losing them harder. Sure beats ear muff type in hot weather.

I use these under muffs at the range. the black part is soft and flexible, which helps in comfort but makes maybe slightly tricky to inset.

The silicone flanges are much better to insert and remove- you aren't affected by cold weather and they don't have to slowly enlarge in your ears

A must buy for PPE
These Surefire Sonic defender earplugs are truly and legitimately one of the best PPE items to add to your range gear. The fit is phenomenal and comfortable but the sound/noise reduction is pure magic. You can immediately tell the difference from the cheap foam plugs. I highly recommend adding a pair.

Better than expected
It is relatively lightweight for its size. It is comfortable to wear for prolonged periods. Easy to adjust the size. Very effective at blocking out sound.It did not interfere with maintaining cheek to stock.

Simple and effective
Very effective ear pro for the cost. Washable and reusable, good for “layering” hearing protection under muffs if so desired. Very good for rifle or pistol shooting, and equally good at intense volume crowded settings like concerts or feminist rallies. Highly recommend

SureFire Sonic Defender Max EP5 Hearing Protectors
I can't recommend these hearing protectors. For them to work I had to force them pretty far into my ear canal. They are not comfortable. Blocking sound was touch and go depending on the position in the ear, and they were difficult to keep in a working position.

Great little product - light weight and easy to use. Not a bulky as the traditional hearing protection. Great for the range or shooting and easy to pack in your range bag. It takes up a lot less space than the over the ear hearing protection

Surefire Sonica Defender, drowns the sound!
My husband falls asleep the minute his head hits the pillow. I bought these to block out the sweet sounds of his snoring, puffing, etc., during the night. I have to make certain that they are set deeply into the ear channel, which took some doing...but it's worth it, They muffle the sound enough so that I can finally get to sleep!!
