I used to use the regular tape switch with an ERGO Tactical Light Switch Mount. This is a lot more secure and a lot more reliable when paired on my ar with an x300 it is a very compact, rugged and reliable setup. If you can get over the price then I highly recommend.
Pros: rock solid, rugged and completely reliable
Cons: Cost
