Superb Field of View and Illuminated Reticle
At one magnification, I was pleasantly shocked to see that it seemed to be below 1x when looking through the scope. Usually manufacturers advertise true 1x but give you 1.1x or higher. Swampfox has gone the other way with giving what appears to my eye to be 0.9x or 0.95x. Good job SwampFox. This ...

nicely built scope
I gave this review a "3" because i haven't used it yet. First impressions are: nice build quality, positive turret clicks, nice reticle, solid. My main reason for this review is to pass on scope ring height requirement. If you have a AR base with full length picatinny rails, I would suggest minimum ...

Great illuminated optic
As usual, Optics Planet rocks when it comes to shipping. The Swampfox Tomahawk scope is a beautiful package. Controls are easy to use. The glass very clear and amazing eye relief. The illuminated reticle is not too busy, well thought out and easy to use. I really like that the brightness turret turns off the illumination between brightness settings. The optic is a real asset on our Macademia Nut farm in Hawaii. I shot five pigs in three days:). Whale I was reviewing the the scope on Optics website, a sale popped up. Done deal, thank you Optics Planet.

Gen 1 tomahawk
Swampfox is getting ready to release the gen 2 version and the deals are outstanding on the gen 1. Optics planet did a great job with shipping. Haven’t shot it yet but construction looks great and glass is clear, it’s my first LPVO so can’t really compare it to anything else.

Works for me.
Great optic for the price. I don’t know what optics do that cost thousands of dollars and i probably never will. But for what I use it for it was bargain. Was spot on.

Dead on with my .243
I put this on my .243 AR10, 16 inch barrel. Went to sight in, after a few shots at 50 yards, I shifted to 100 @ 8x. A few more shots and i was grouping 1/2"! Dialed back to 2x and went back to 50 yards and it was still right on. Clear, easy to dial in. Love it. Shopped for quite some time before going with Swampfox. I had never heard of them, but all reviews I found were very positive.....so I made the buy and glad I did.
Pros:
- Clear, held zero, easy to mount and adjust
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting

Awesome medium range LVPO
This will be my third 1-8x tomahawk purchase. I have tested it rigorously on both 30-30 and .300 hammr. The scope's built-in reticle works as designed and is easy to make hits on targets and hogs at 200m. I have had no issues from either scope. This one is going to test out how strong of a build it is on a .458 socom build! Can't wait!

High quality
Can't say enough how much I like this scope. You can tell right out of the box the quality of the product. I've had 0 issues zeroing in and holding it.

Throw lever was an afterthought
I like this optic overall, especially as a budget option, but the throw lever needs some serious work. It started coming loose almost immediately. Then of course the screw (which is the smallest screw I have personally seen on a firearm product) stripped when I attempted to tighten it down to secure the lever. The design of this throw lever really is unforgivable for an LPVO. The whole "variable" thing is pretty integral to this type of optic. There are better options at this price point.
