When I was shopping for an optic for my 6.5 Grendel AR-15, my criteria was a good quality prism scope with an MOA or MRAD reticle that didn't break the bank. It seems that most prism scopes use a BDC reticle, which I do not like because those only work for specific cartridges for specific calibers with specific barrel lengths. I like MOA/MRAD reticles because they are universal.
Long story short, the Swampfox Trihawk fit the criteria. Although it is budget-friendly, it seems pretty durable. I wouldn't expect ACOG-level of durability, but it is also a quarter of the price of an ACOG. The other feature that stands out to me is the reticle. The center lines of the reticle are fine and crisp so as not to cover your view of the target, and the outer circle is a bit thicker to allow for quick target acquisition.
As an added bonus, this optic comes with removable flip-open lens covers and a honeycomb sunshade.
My only major gripe about the Trihawk is the non-quick detach integrated mount. As I have stated previously, the eye relief isn't necessarily bad, but the way the mount is designed prevents me from mounting it as far back as I would like. Since the ...
