This is not an effective product - TacFire Linear Compensators

I have bought a lot of these Tacfire linear compensators over the past several years, and they are great! I have used them on every one of my builds since I started using them. I just ordered another one for a build I'm working on, and when it got here, the diameter of the opening was huge. It was much, much larger than the opening was supposed to be for a 5.56 mm projectile. I checked the label on the packaging it came in, and it said that it was for the 5.56 mm. I compared it to the previous ones that I bought, and the opening was just so much larger than 5.56 mm. I thought Optics Planet must have made a mistake, so I returned it to them and asked them to send me the correct one. The new one just arrived, and it is just as large as the one that I returned, even though it was labeled as 5.56 mm. It threads onto the ar-15 barrel, but with the diameter of the opening that large it will not be effective, and will essentially be the same as having a barrel with no muzzle device on it.

I called Tacfire to discuss this problem with them, and they weren't interested in hearing the problem. The guy on the phone mentioned that someone else is manufacturing them now, and I'm willing to bet they sent this product to China where it was improperly manufactured by people who do not care about the functionality of the product. It's too bad, because this was once a great product. Now it is something I threw in the garbage because the effort to return it isn't worth my time.
