greyoliveblackfde's Review of Tacfire AR15 Receiver End Plate With Ambi Qd Sling Swivel Attachment

I noticed after purchase that I could have used the added QD attachment, and it is actually cheaper to order the set than to just get the end plate! I ended up ordering an angled QD attachment which operates better for me, but I could have thrown it "in stock" or used for a front-mount or attachment on another sling I have.

The QD endplate has a very shiny black-painted reflective sheen, call it Ferrari-black. Very soft to the touch with this highly polished paint job. My AR's, as most, are matte black so this has a stark contrast. It really does look sharp by itself, and is of super heavy-duty construction. If color-matching matters to you, you may have to give your AR a Ferrari-quality paint job to match the endplate! I am almost inspired to do just that, as this paint job is quite nice. Or, you could go the cheaper way and give it a light sand or buff with a file to give it that matte finish. This finish isn't indicated in the description, but the 2nd photo which is a close-up without the QD attachment gives you an idea of the reflective shine.

The QD attachments are beefy and stick out well from the lower/receiver. I thought the top-loop of the ring might be thin, but no worries. Again, solid construction. Maybe heavy if weight is a concern, but you won't have to worry about a QD "ear" coming off or your firearm dropping due to cheap construction. I say "ear" because they remind me of a kid with big ears. I like them sticking out though, they should. This guy will hold some weight, even if you have way too much junk on your AR (yeah I tried it) :) You probably won't care about the weight on an AR pistol or SBR which is my recommendation. Don't forget to order it with the attachment, while saving money too!
Pros:
  • ambidextrous
  • Heavy Duty
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • AR pistols & SBR
