Lucas Solomon's Review of Tacfire Bolt Catch Release Lever
Ordered this for $18 on sale, not the listed $25, along with some other stuff and attempted to install it the same day as arrival. It looks like the design its self isn't bad, however, when you use the wrong/inadequate materiels then no matter how well something is designed it won't perform well. That's what Tacfire has done here. They used very soft aluminum for the whole part but then used steel screws to put it together. Soft aluminum and hard steel don't go together, particularly when they are using friction on each other. Were it made of harder aluminum or even steel, I could foresee it being a decent and well-made part that would stay on well enough with regular use. Keeping good materials in mind, it went on with an ambi mag release button(Sig Sauer), it came down to about half way in my trigger guard and was well within reach of my trigger finger without getting in the way in any capacity. Like I said, well designed but poorly executed. Don't buy even on sale.
Side Note: I shouldn't be able to slide both mounting screws out of the *threaded* screw holes. I'll try to get a refund and update it if I do. If this review doesn't ever get updated, I didn't get a refund.
