Fit and finish are exelent, went over the upper components and everythi g apears to be goog quality and fit. The finish is goog, installed it on a PSA gen 3 lower and fits great. Awaiting vortex scope and mount. Cant wait to start shooting and seeing what function and accuracy we can develop.

I recently bought the (DPMS) LR 308 upper reciever from tacfire. The item had fast shipping and when I opened the package it looked like a decent quality full upper for the money. So I got a headspacing guage set and tested them out on there product. So with the "NoGo" guage the BCG would not close all the way like it should. So then I tried the "Go" guage, which is supposed to fully close but it didn't.so I knew somthing was wrong. So I ordered a different barrel and put that on and was still having the same issue. So I brought the upper to a gun smith they looked at it and said it is the upper reciever that was out of spec. So I got a different upper stripped reciever put everything back together and it worked. You may or may not run into this particular issue like me, but I don't recommend buying this upper. And Optics planet will return but they charge you a return fee and percentage for restocking fee.

Out of the box, looks great, nice hand guard, matched up to the lower perfectly - but the bolt won't retract - lugs won't release.
Returned and will go with higher end upper.

When building my 1st gen ar 10, I was doing a lot of shopping around for the parts. Especially the comlete upper receiver. I found this one and was thinking it fit what I wanted, and it's a great price. It is. Came in less than a week. I read the other reviews, none good, and I found none of the problems those people had. It was packaged well, upon inspection, I found it well put together. Fit right on my lr 308 dpms lower. Took it to the range just to test functionality, and it fired great.

Well I have not had luck with mine. I checked it out before installing on my Aero lower and went to the range and fired it with a full mag, it shot and ejected the casing but didn’t pick up the second round. So I took another mag loaded two rounds and fired it and still the same issue. I fired the second round and it wouldn’t lock the bolt back. So far I’ve changed buffer springs and adjusted the gas block and even shortened the buffer spring and still not operating correctly. I’ve done everything I know to do but take it to a gunsmith. I rated it 3 stars given you can’t get a complete upper this cheap and firing it 1 round at a time at 100yrds it’s holding solid 1/4in groups.

After honing the chamber and polishing it is very reliable I think what happened was it was rushed through production like a lot of things these days trying to keep up with the need and they forgot that coating the chamber was not a good idea.

It’s made of great materials it looks great it’s a perfect all out DPMS .I like it and I can’t wait to put it on my new lower .It seems to be a great way to find and create your own AR 10. It’s a good way to start out for a beginner like me. For the price you can bet it.
