Most Helpful Positive Review Good Quality Item
I had recently purchased a muzzle break from Optics Planet and was having trouble getting it aligned properly using a standard crush washer. I decided to order the Tacfire muzzle break jam nut to correct the problem. The jam nut was a good quality item. It was just the perfect thickness to lock the new muzzle break in place at the correct position. I will use the jam nuts in the future for two reasons the first is that it only takes a second to get the timing correct and the second is they are reusable.

AR10 Jam Nut

by Juan, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on February 16, 2022
This jam nut Worked exactly as I had hoped. The threads were cut to specifications and screwed on smoothly , the wrench size is 3/4". There is not much you can say about a jam nut but optics planet wants you to write a book in the reviews. It made clocking the muzzle device easy.
Pros:
  • Easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • threaded muzzle

Muzzle brake installation where shims won't work.

by Florida Man, from FL, United States Written on May 14, 2021
I used this jam nut to install a Yankee Hill muzzle brake on my T/C Compass which did not have a sufficient shoulder for timing with shims. I was afraid that I would not be able to use the YHM Resonator R2 silencer/suppressor with my T/C Compass .308 because the Quick Disconnect muzzle brake that came with it requires shims to time it correctly. I heard that I can also use a jam nut rather than the shims, so I purchased this one from Optics planet and it works perfectly. The only drawback is that it was so expensive.
Pros:
  • fit, finish, function
Cons:
  • outrageously expensive for what it is
Best Used for:
  • timing muzzle brake on shoulderless barrel
Would recommend: Yes

by Jpjroofs Johnson, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on April 18, 2020
Exactly what I needed to ger my compensator where it needed to be. Before my I couldn’t get compensator where it needed to be without risking harm to my rifle....this was the perfect add on! And can’t beat the price rather than a whole new compensator. Easy fix
Pros:
  • Durability
  • easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • muzzle devices
