Most Helpful Positive Review Works great, easy install
This is an excellent product, I installed it in a few minutes & works as advertised. This bumper softens felt recoil, and also reduces vibrations transferred to the metal cover. I suspect this will reduce metal fatigue. Installed in a WASR 10, the fit is perfect.

Why would you not get one?

by Tommy, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on April 24, 2025
I love these buffers. I have them in all my AK’s and it really helps persevere the life of the bolt carrier and also absorb some of those recoils. You can’t go wrong with them.

I have installed the AK buffer in all of my Zastava's. Once mated with a decent muzzle device, you can achieve less recoil impulse.

Changes distance of bolt travel

by Kory, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on November 5, 2024
Installed on a stamped VSKA AK-47. Realised immediately that the bolt carrier would no longer travel to the full rearward position. Can no longer engage the bolt latch relief cut on the safety lever. Might work if you remove some material.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Limits rearward bolt carrier travel

SKS Recoil Buffer

by Gary, from FL, United States Written on April 29, 2020
What can I say? It's black, hard rubber, it goes in the back of the receiver. Take the dust cover off, push this Recoil Buffer into the dust cover, align the recoil spring into the buffer hole, slide the dust cover in place. Close the latch, you're done.
Pros:
  • Works fine, no problems.
Cons:
  • None really.
