Chris's Review of TacStar Slimline SideSaddle Shotshell Carrier
The side saddle came with incorrect hardware. The hardware itself was also rusted and corroded as if it had been exposed to moisture for some time. The screws on the back are not flush and will scratch your receiver. I placed some soft command strips over them to mitigate that. My 870 is equipped with an aftermarket slide assembly and this side saddle blocks the action. Not enough to effect performance but it still isn’t a good fit. When I contacted the manufacturer for new hardware and asked they overnight it I was told that was not an option and waited about 5 days for a replacement. The hardware replaced the trigger group pins and I noticed the d rings that hold the pins in obstruct their use. During breach loading and field loading drills I noticed the 1st, 5th, and 6ths positions did not provide adequate tension on the rounds and they kept falling out. In the end you get what you pay for and I will be replacing this to finish my build.
Pros:
- Is a side saddle
Cons:
- Not a good side saddle
Best Used for:
- Dudes with Ed hardy seat covers
