Most Helpful Positive Review Intrepid Rig
Comes with the perfect amount of real estate for all the ammunition and frags and extra gear. Always comes with features that aren't even mentioned like the kangroo pouch is lined with velcro and has 3 elastic loops to organize equipment. Excellent build quality, remarkably useful and met or exceeded all my expectations. Comes highly recommended.

Comprehensive, all-inclusive chest rig

by Robbie R., from TN, United States Written on August 3, 2014
This chest rig includes everything an infantry rifleman will need. The two multipurpose pouches work great to hold NVGs and a first aid kit. A basic load for a rifleman is 7 30-round magazines. The additional two magazine slot works excellent to hold a smoke grenade or a couple of bangers. The dual communication system works well thanks to the routing attachments on the shoulder straps. Everything is easily accessible and functions well. This chest rig is easy to don and doff and it doesn't require a "squire" to get mission ready. My only complaint with this rig is the use of magnets on the front of the rig. I'm sure they are useful for someone, however, I run a compass in kit and now it is 10 degrees off azimuth. Not only that, it is impossible to get an compass to work while you are wearing this chest rig. My solution to this problem was to get a razor blade and cut out the magnets. Problem solved. Learn from my mistake and cut these magnets out before you are trying to direct a close combat attack and give the pilots an azimuth that is completely wrong.
Pros:
  • Functionality
  • Versatility
  • Ruggedness
Cons:
  • Magnets in the Front
Best Used for:
  • Infantry Rifleman / Leader

TAG Intrepid Chest Rig

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on June 20, 2012
This is a very well built rig. The material and stitching is top notch, as well as the Velcro and zippers. It can be set up with the straps in an X pattern or the H pattern, I use the X pattern because it fits more snug. My favorite thing about this rig is the slot to hook up the single point sling. Having the sling (which is also made by TAG) attached directly to the rig is much more comfortable than any of the other options I have tried.

Great Value

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 25, 2012
This chest rig will do the job of carrying plenty of ammo, and other need kit for harms way. I am not in the military but from a civilian point of view this is just what I need for the range and such. Very satisfied.
Pros: Design well for purpose, great construction. holds plenty of gear with room for more pouchs.
Cons: None that I can see.

Intrepid chest rig, lots of chem lights no molle

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on September 29, 2011
Very high quality rig. The Intrepid comes with a set of buckles to attach to your favorite back pack. Fits well over an armor carrier but requires a buddy if you want to roll w/ the backstraps crossed.

If you roll w/ two radios this is a good setup, otherwise get some molle for customization.
Pros: Easily combinable w/ backpack to create a super rig or a bug out rig
Cons: I don't have grenades to put in pouches.
