Almost good - Belleville Guardian Hot Weather Lightweight Composite Toe Boot - Mens

I waited 3 weeks after a full break in before judging these boots because I had high hopes. I’ll start with the good. Visually the boots look great, the tread grip is aggressive, supports the ankles very well, and the sizing is correct. Now the bad. The break in period was the worst I’ve ever experienced, destroyed my ankles and toes for a solid two weeks. The reinforcing strap that runs along the back of the ankle eats your ankles like wearing a $5 pair of plastic dress shoes with no socks and still hasn’t let up after a full break in. The toe box and composite toe just land wrong and wrap onto the big toe right after the joint. Now the worst. The insoles are complete garbage, it’s just a hard plastic shallow basin of suffering. I pulled them out finally and put some new ones so I’ll actually be able to wear these boots their full life span. These boots could be so much better
