Total POS thankfully Optics planet took it back

by John Napolitano, from NY, United States Written on January 19, 2022
The latch doesn't close so there is zero locking. The magnets are not strong enough to hold up a Glock! It is Absolute junk. Build your own cheaper and way better. Every thing in the box was a disappointment. Junk. Now I have a huge hole in my wall
Pros:
  • Good idea
Cons:
  • Build like garbage
Best Used for:
  • Firewood

Good but not good. Mixed feelings

by Mike D, from FL, United States Written on December 27, 2021
The good, final results look good on the wall and it operates well now, I love it. The bad, the frame on the back of the frame was cracked upon arrival, not to bad but required glue and a clamp for a night. Had the Crack been visible from the front finished side I would of returned it immediately. Any YouTube video is better then the directions that come with this product. I do not have a northern home so my studs are wider then 16inches. I knew this going into project and built out from stud to match dimensions of the sheet rock hole that needs to be cut. First time I fully screwed mirror to wall in an attempt to be close to finished, problems became more apparent. The mirror door while sliding open scrapped up against wall. I ultimately added 6 shim pieces next to all 6 mounting screws to pop up whole mirror 1/8th inch off wall to allow clearance of sliding door. Next and worst issue was the Locking magnetic mechanism was on bottom because of the way I wanted door to slide open. A noticeable gap on the top of mirror door could not properly shut because the lock was on bottom which is the only piece that physically keeps mirror pressed against the frame. I took everything apart, AGAIN! I removed the 4 screws and moved the latch to the top. Pre cut out areas told me this frame could work with latch on top without major alterations. The pre notched out area was not great for catching the locking mechanism until I pulled out a dremel tool and shaved away wood to a slightly bigg...
