Tasco 1 X 42 Red Dot Scope
WOW!!! Received the scope yesterday and mounted it on my Ruger MK II target pistol. I used a Weigand Combat scope base.
Went to the range today and sighted the scope in at 25 yards. Only took 3 rounds to get the scope on dead center. I fired ten five shot groups with Winchester Super X Hollow...

Not as advertised
Everything as advertised except "red dot" is not a dot or even close to it. Its way too large and shaped in an elongated non-semetrical shape.

Best red door for the money
I have two of these red dot sights from Tasco. Ive had one on my hi-point 9mm carbine for 10 years. I did not expect such a fantastic product. By far the best optic I have ever purchased for the price. Through all the beating and banging and rounds that have been fired (at least 5k) this sight had never lost its zero unless I've moved it to a different firearm. I purchased another for my newly aquired ruger 22/45 lite. I cut the package open and promptly dropped the sight on the concrete floor of my local range. I picked it up put it on my 22/45 anyway proceeded to zero and shoot 400 rounds through my 22/45. Great sight for the money. Only fault I can find is the large size of the sight. It is also pretty hefty. It is much better suited for a rifle. I have never regretted my purchase of either sight.

Awesome red dot
I know every manufacturer has a lemon now and then but my red do is very nice. Yes it's a budget dot but the dot is perfectly round and small until about 4 or so then it gets a little out of round. I just returned a utg 4 moa that had a horrible blob instead of a dot. I am exchanging for another so well see. This Tasco works great!

Meets Expectations
Agree with earlier review - the dot is not a dot...that is to say, it is not tight like with a $400+ scope. It is not a $400+ scope, and I have seen much worse looking dots on other "economy" scopes; this ain't that bad.
This is quite a reasonable scope for the money. If it proves to be mechanically robust for a while on my rifle, I'll be getting more of them.

put it on a ruger bull barrel 22/45 and now can shoot the balls off an ant at 25 yards this is the best thing i have in my gun collection - awsom
