Most Helpful Positive Review Decent value for little money
The spotting scope itself is decent- good quality, a long enough zoom to check targets out to 100 yards, integrated sunshade, and a soft carry bag and a hard case. The tripod, though, is terrible; it's almost impossible to maneuver the scope well at any real amount of zoom. I replaced the included t...

Good scope for the money and the stand is usable to.I can see 22 cal holes at 50 yards ok but not at 100.If you shoot 22 cal at 100 spend more and get more. Ipaid a little over a 100.00 and this scope is worth that.
Pros:
  • good for 50 yards
  • good for 50 yard

Spotting Scope

by Jim, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on April 6, 2016
Good item for range work on bench and ground. Clear glass out to 400 yards but when you run the signification up to 60 over 400 yards it gets a little blurry and unable to focus well. All-in-all for the price it's a great back up or field spotter out to 800 yards. Scope is very good but will be replacing the tripod at some point.
Pros:
  • price well
Cons:
  • Tripod is suseptable to vibrations
  • tripod head is not the best
Best Used for:
  • Field Use
  • back up spotter scope

Tripod stinks

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 19, 2013
The tripod that came with the scope was broken so Tasco sent me a new one and that one is missing a piece. Because they are two different models, I can't make one good one out of two bad ones.

The scope itself is great - I have no problem seeing .223 holes in paper at 150 yds.
Pros: easy to use; clear viewing
Cons: TRIPOD

Haven't got to the range yet, but set it up in the driveway and was happy with the clarity and and zoom. I will be taking it on vacation as well as to the range. I think it is a good buy

Nice spotting scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 13, 2011
This is a nice scope for the money. I could see my bullet holes at 200 yds, but only on the white part of the target. A hole in the black was hard to see at 200 yds zoomed out to 60X. At 100 yds it was fine at 40X or even 20x. Focus was a little hard for me but I have problems with my eyes anyways. Nobody else using it complained. It had minimal eye relief but I could use it with my glasses on, it was better with them off though. The tripod is nice, it is not the same one as shown though, as noted in other reviews. I do not use the tripod, I use my camera tripod as we use this standing up, spotting for others. The front cap "pops" off but the eyepiece cap screws off. Almost broke it trying to remove it. When I got it the case was dented on the lid but because I needed to use it the week I received it I didn't complain. A dent doesn't bother me so much as long as the scope was OK.
Pros: Rubberized coating, hard and soft case, nice tripod

Great light, not so great tripod

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on October 13, 2010
I am very happy with it. As i had been told, it is very good at low light shooting. The only con i found was it's tripod, which isn't all that great, but it works for beginners.
