I purchased 8 of these helmets for a USAR team in China. The team loved these helmets and put them to good use immediately. The shipping time took quite awhile though, I guess they had to order it from the manufacturer. But I will be ordering another set of 8 anyway.

My current USAR helmet was a KIWI. I have had it for over 10 years. Basket broke and it reached its expiration date. For some reason helmets have expiration dates. I bought the Team Wendy SAR Backcountry and I really like it. It is lighter than my KIWI and I've noticed it keeps my head cooler. The ratchet head band adjustment sits lower on the back of your head and is more comfortable. The helmet is not as top heavy and feels more secure while wearing it. The finish on the shell is not as glossy and will show dirt more I think, but I prefer functionality over looks any day. The magnetic latch on the strap system is fantastic. Single hand operation and keeps helmet secure. I have been using this helmet now in training and will not hesitate to use it in the field. If I were to improve one thing on the helmet, it would be some form of sun visor or a visor attachment to keep the sun out of your eyes. I have been wearing a ball cap with the Backcountry on top and it is comfortable. This is a quality helmet and for the price, I would put it against any $350+ helmet.

This a great helmet for multiple technical rescue disciplines. The ability to mount lights/cameras on the front or via accessory rails is great as well as the enhanced visibility offered by the SOLAS tape. The magnetic buckle is convenient and secure. It would be nice to have 3 pad sizes to really dial in the fit, but it is not bad with two. I definitely recommend the SAR helmet!
