Disappointed in the product in that no where does it tell you clearly that the product does not fit older type maglites, only the newer models with a deeper recess. Leading to frustrations trying to install the product
Should be recommended for Maglites above a particular serial # range
Otherwise the product is ok.
Pros:
  • bright as they say
  • can be used in 3 to 5 cell maglites
Cons:
  • Does not fit all maglites
Best Used for:
  • newwer maglite models

Great concept, but failed miserably

No matter how I tried, no matter how many times I reread the sparse directions, never got this kit to work. I have the 5-cell Maglite, and thought it "fits" it never actually worked. I tried with all variables ("switch" in various positions, bulb collar on, off, o-ring in or not, yet, without success. If this DOES work, I'd love to hear from someone who figured out what is missing from the instructions! Nothing telling me who to call if I have issues. Cost about as much as the original flashlight, with works just fine. Not impressed.
Best Used for:
  • Not sure, not heavy enough on its own for a paperweight
