Mark D's Review of Tiger Rock AR Accu Wedge Buffer
I have a couple Aero Precision M4E1 Lowers as well as a Stag Arms AR15 Lower (same as Aero & BA). The little mickey mouse ear bumps on the wedge don't seat properly in those receivers (not sure about others). I had to cut them off and shave the very bottom down to be able to close the upper and lower together. Similar issue to using the set screw in them. Either you remove the slop and can barely move the takedown pin, or it still slops around a bit. I was hoping it would really solidify the mating of the upper and lower, but it really only cleaned up a little more slop and I could get with adjusting the set screw in the lower. So it works and if you have a ton of slop and no set screw, this would be a great product. If you have a set screw and can eliminate most of the slop with that, you won't get much more out of this. Anything more you take out will be balanced with a much harder to use rear takedown pin.
Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Works as intended
Cons:
- Not any better than a set screw
- Requires trimming to fit some lower receivers properly
- makes rear takedown pin harder to use
Best Used for:
- ARs with a lot of play between the upper and lower.
