Remington 700 trigger replacement - Timney Triggers Remington 700 Trigger w/ Safety

I got this trigger to replace a factory 1969 Remington BDL trigger that had a real nasty habit of occasionaly discharging a round when the bolt was closed home. After nearly 2 years, Remington did nothing despite logging a complaint, registering with them, etc. The replacement trigger arrived in a flimsy mailing envelope and upon opening I discovered both the safety lever and the bolt release lever were significantly bent. Zero stars to the shipping department! With some gentle needle nose pliers application, I got it ready for installation. The only fitting problem, which was not addressed in the directions, there is a pin that moves side to side when the safety is cycled on to off; a small amount of wood needs be removed from the inside right side of the stock or the safety will not move. Once in, the Timney is a vast improvement in so many ways: crisp clean release, near zero creep, easily adjustable, and best of all, no accidental discharges! Should be a 5 star review but disappointed in arrival condition of the product. That said, Optics Planet had the best price and free shipping.
