Nice trigger
This is a vast improvement over the stock trigger. Even light pull. Note however some modification of the stock is necessary and it took me a while to figure out where. Light sanding on the right side gave the safety room to move freely, but it would still bind when I put it in the stock. Turns out there is a throw out pin on the left side of the trigger that was impinging on the stock. You can feel it with your finger when actuating the safety with the trigger out of the stock. An 1/8" dimple on the left side and everything worked great. Hope that helps someone else.
Rem 788 308 replacement
I just got done installing a timney in a 308 Remington 788.Its a great improvement over the stock trigger,,went from a over 6 lb. pull to a hair under 3 with no creep and I'm sure it will improve my groups with a very accurate rifle. this is my 4th Timney so far. I have them in a 1903-03-A3 Springfield that my Dad got from the NRA for $17.50 It always was fun to shot and He and I both killed our1st deer with it ,a big Mulie for him in 1964 and a 7pt whitetail for me in 74. Also have Timneys in a 1952 FN Mauser in 257 Roberts and now 2 Rem 788's a 223 and now a 308. As always Optics Planet was fast and very professional Thanks

Timney Trigger
This trigger said it fits the Remington 450X. It mounts to the action but does not fit in the original manufacturer stock. The trigger itself is nice but not for the 450X as stated.

Bought this trigger to replace my factory trigger on a Rem. 22-250, replacement was easy and the adjustable trigger setting is very easy to set, had to trim out a little on the stock but was minimal. Overall I am very pleased with this trigger

Remington 788
Shipping took much longer than originally expected but I decided to not cancel my order because customer service was very quick in explaining why. The directions for installation were easy to follow. I had to use the dremel to remove some of the stock so it would fit. Trigger release is crisp with no creep.
Pros:
- No adjustment necessary
Cons:
- Had to remove some of the stock for fitment

Easy Upgrade
Just installed on my Remington 788 carbine with Champion synthetic stock. Could not have been easier. Zero modification required. Crisp trigger break. Will make my budget rifle even more accurate. She ain’t much to look at but she more than holds her own against higher end rifles if I do my part.
Pros:
- Quality
- easy to install
- Crisp & clean break when firing
Cons:
- None

Too early to tell
I purchased this trigger with high hopes of it really being an awesome improvement. Upon arriving I was pleased with the quality of the product , and ease of installation instructions. My hopes quickly vanished. The trigger would not mate with the underside of my receiver to allow the roll pin to be installed, the trigger assembly was not able to insert into the groove on the bottom of the receiver. I spent well over 2 hours with a hand file , filing and fitting over and over again until the trigger fit the assembly. Once that worked I spent another hour adjusting my stock to allow the trigger safety to move freely. Finally, all adjustments I reassembled the rifle only to find that the bolt catch would allow the bolt to come out when cycling the action. Timney sent me a longer bolt catch pin but that would not allow the bolt to. E removed from the rifle without disassembling the rifle. Overall it’s been about 4 hours of frustration and 5-6 emails with customer service so far. I will say Timney’s customer service is FANTASTIC and they have been very helpful. I may need to return this item to Optics Planet if I cannot make the item actually function on my rifle.
Pros:
- Great trigger, easy to adjust
Cons:
- May not fit your factory rifle as a drop in installation.
Best Used for:
- improving accuracy on an already accurate hunting rifle.

Timney Trigger Rem 788
I am very satisfied with the purchase of the Timney trigger for the Remington Model 788. The trigger is an exact machined fit for the rifle making installation into the rifle framework both extremely easy and fast. The action of the trigger when firing the rifle is soft and very smooth. This allows the shooter the confidence to make a perfect score whether it be on a target or a game animal of their choice. Thanks to OpticsPlanet for offering a quality and inexpensive trigger mechanism.
Pros:
- Well machined and fit perfect
