Yetiman's Review of Timney Triggers Remington 870 Trigger Fix
I put a Timney trigger in a ruger Scout rifle years ago and loved it. So when I decided an 870 needed an upgrade I was confident Timney would be up to the task.
Installation was quite easy on the 870s. On the 11-87 the carrier pivot tube has a keeper on each end. One Keeper has to be removed which can a bit tricky to do.
I put one in a 2021 870 Tac 14 that had a terribley long gritty creepy pull. The improvement is night and day. There is still a trace of creep, but the break is very crisp. With the red spring installed the break is 3lbs 2oz.
The second install is a 2007 11-87 police gun. The trigger had a good bit of creep and was 7 lbs.
It now has far less creep, and a very crisp break at 2 lbs 13oz with the white spring installed.
The third is a 1994 870 Express combo that had some creep and a not very crisp break at 6 lbs. It now has barely perceptible creep and a crisp 2 lb 12oz break with the white spring installed.
