Most Helpful Positive Review Unique Design
At first I was skeptical of this design....especially the durability of the rod. So far it has proved to be very good and works well. The handle slides up and down the road and I HIGHLY recommend that you follow the directions on use. The rod flexes and I'm sure that with incorrect use it would break..BUT….it has proved durable by following the directions. I Would recommend it. It works..and you can use it on bolt action rifles cleaning from the breech instead of from the muzzle like with non-flexible rods. As with most TIPTON products they seemed to have put in a lot of R&D to insure that it...

High quality

I've only used it once on my .22 rifle but seems to work good. I really like the sliding handle for more stable pushing force. I would definitely purchase the .17cal version if they had it in stock.

MaxForce Carbon Fiber Cleaning Rod

This is a great cleaning rod. Eliminates the need for multi cleaning rods.
Works great on centerfire rifles as well as .22. Have not tried in on handguns.
Well constructed and it should last a long time.

One piece carbon rod

by MJR, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on May 1, 2017
Nice light weight rod, has shotgun threads on one end so you can just flip it around and reverse it. Handle works well. Make sure you use the right side patches. I tried pushing one that was too big and the rod snapped to my surprise with little bowing. Tipton quickly replaced the broken rod without issue. Service with Tipton A+. Optics planets price is always the lowest. SLOOOOOOOW Shipping though.
Pros:
  • light weight
  • One Piece
  • dual ends
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • use small patches

Great Cleaning Rod with real Utility

by Biggs300, from OK, United States Written on January 2, 2017
For years, I have been using a "pull-through" gun cleaning system which has more than served it purpose. After purchasing a new target rifle with a long barrel, I decided to go to a rod and bore guide for cleaning. Since the Max Force carbon fiber rod can be used for a wide variety of calibers, including pistols, I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. I was a little concerned when I first received the rod as it looks a bit fragile. However, the sliding handle allows you to get closer to the bore guide for more leverage and force. I have used it twice now and I am sure it will continue to function as designed. I do recommend this cleaning rod.

Max Force Cleaning Rod

by AI AXMC, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on November 9, 2016
This is an ingenius cleaning rod for both handguns and rifles. It allows you to choke up on the overall length of the cleaning rod to keep you from bowing it when pushing it through the barrel. The carbon fiber protects the chamber, throat, and crown of the barrel from damage. It is a quality piece of equipment that I would recommend very highly. It can be used for multiple calibers thus cutting down on the number of cleaning rods you will need in your armamentarium.
Pros:
  • EXCELLANT QUALITY
  • multi-caliber use
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • cleaning rifles and pistols
Would recommend: Yes
