Charlie's Review of Titan Damascus Bolster Handle Steel Blade Knife TDK-58
The pattern-weld design on this blade is well done. The craftsmanship on the bone scales is good. The sheath is serviceable. (I chose to add a Mexican Basket Weave Sheath with snap). The edge on the blade is not centered, but biased to the extreme left. Does not affect function, and for the alternate sheath works well as the finger notch and resulting "reinforcement" at the ricasso would cause some abrasion to the sheath if the blade was centered. The assembler chose to grind the front bolster corners to transition to the bone scales, which displaced the etch, which I remedied with some hot 6% vinegar. The blade edge came reasonably sharp, with some rough spots of polished with 2000 grit sandpaper. The finger grove and file-work allows you to sneak-up on the blade for detailed work. I have not used the knife yet, so cannot comment on the metal treat. Overall, an excellent value for the money. I suggest rethinking the finger notch area, the rear blade "reinforcement" is clumsy IMHO, and a more elegant ricasso design is possible.
