The pattern-weld design on this blade is well done. The craftsmanship on the bone scales is good. The sheath is serviceable. (I chose to add a Mexican Basket Weave Sheath with snap). The edge on the blade is not centered, but biased to the extreme left. Does not affect function, and for the alternate sheath works well as the finger notch and resulting "reinforcement" at the ricasso would cause some abrasion to the sheath if the blade was centered. The assembler chose to grind the front bolster corners to transition to the bone scales, which displaced the etch, which I remedied with some hot 6%...

Not a true damascus

I should have known better but i thought for $35 it would be worth a try. When i received the knife (quick delivery from Optics Planet!!) i noticed that much of the damascus was worn from the handle edges. First indication this is an acid etched vs damascus blade. The leather sheath came apart at the rivets as the leather grade is vey low and tore after sheathing the blade a few times. The "bone" handle was not smoothed and shows many rough areas where it meets the misaligned steel base caps at the bottom of the tang. The design on the brass handle pins is already worn off and it hasn't even been used yet. This would be a good knife to have in your toolbox but definately not for the collector or even to display to your friends.

Good knife

Would have given 5 stars ....but the handle has some sharo edges that dug into my hand
took the dremel tool and smoothed the sharp corners and feels great now....good heavy knife...sharp and looks good

I have purchased 12 Titan knives from Optics P. so far.The TDK-58 is the most recent. I have been a knife collector for over fifty years and I think the quality for the price of the Titan knives is fantastic! I look forward to doing more business with Optics P. Thanks J. Bruce
