Damascus/Camel Bone Hunting Knife
The knife arrived in good condition, with the blade wrapped in waxed paper. There was a tiny bit of surface rust (the wipe off with a cloth type) on the top of the tang where it goes into the front bolster. It was not an issue, but I thought I should mention it. The knife is attractive, and the Damascus steel is in a very nice pattern. The front bolster is also heavy Damascus, and is more of a front piece to the knife handle. The handle is good looking with a rich and deep tint to it. I have no idea if it is actually camel bone or some kind of faux. Mine has a tiny spot on the handle w...

Nice, Heavy duty knife
This is a beautiful knife. The Camel Bone handle is nice but does contain a few minor flaws in the surface. They're okay by me but don't expect perfection. Same goes for the blade. Although very attractive, heavy and sturdy the blade wasn't completely sharpened when I got it. The blade had been ground on both sides but there was a lot of excess steel on the opposite side of the last grind. Had to get rid of the excess and sharpen the blade. Not a big deal but don't expect a nicely sharpened edge out of the box.

Happy Hunter
I purchased two of these. Right-sized general purpose hunting/camping blade with nice pattern-weld. The drop point design is my favorite, strong in both cutting and piercing. The bone scales are nice but needed to be finished. Unequal thickness, slightly off in matching finger grips, edgy tang. One blade had some chips around the lanyard hole I filled with some ground bone and outdoor epoxy. About 20 minutes or so with some 320 sandpaper and my hands melted into the grip. Came sharp, but some rough spots on the edge where the "lip" from grinding had not been removed, which I finished with 2000 grit sandpaper. I have not used the blades yet so cannot comment on heat treat. Excellent value for the money, especially if you don't mind doing a little finishing work with sandpaper.
On the Walnut-scaled model one bolster looked "monkey-hammered".
