This thing needs it's own bad motherF%^&#$ theme song.
A friend of mine showed me one that he had ordered. I knew right then I had to have one. This thing is hoss. It'll get through the zombie apocalypse and beyond as long as you have your own grit. It is a beautifully made robust knife. Nice long sharp thick blade with full tang. Probably G-10 grips. I...

The blade style is that of the Russian Kizlyar Phoenix 1 and several of the other Kizlyar knives. I have an original Kizlyar Phoenix 1 and plan on adding more Kizlyar blades to my collection. The difference in the blade color and handle.

GREAT F---ING KNIFE!!
I love this knife!! Didn't buy it from this site, but the price is the same here... a very good price. The knife is superbly well-made of the same steel as my K-Bars, only with thicker blades and much better overall construction. The one I got has a black blade and an olive-drab handle, and the sheath is great as well... even came treated with some kind of oil/rust-retardant product, so I didn't have to soak the leather sheath with WD40 like I usually have to. I'd purchased an after-market Kydex sheath BEFORE I got the knife itself, which I usually prefer and wasn't offered as an option on this knife... but when I saw the quality of the included leather sheath I kinda regretted buying the other one. I collect knives and swords, mostly combat pieces with historical significance, but I love my Tops Wild Pig Hunter SO MUCH that I will probably buy at least one more Tops knife (I'm thinkin' the Zero Dark Thirty!!) Very pleased with my purchase. Buy one HERE!!
Pros:
- Materials, construction, craftsmanship, steel used, didn't need much sharpening, looks and overall quality/usefulness.
Cons:
- None, although a Kydex sheath option would be useful.
Best Used for:
- Combat, with any type of critter whatsoever.

Awesome blade
When I saw this knife I had to have it. It did not disappoint. The fit and finish is great but not perfect but almost perfect especially for the price. I asked O.P. where it was made and they declined to answer but I still bought it. It’s made in the USA great added bonus. The edge had quite a burr and was not consistent, but it can be refined easily.
Pros:
- value
- Appearance
- Sheath
- Cool af
Cons:

Great Defense Knife
This is a hugely popular knife that is immensely well crafted and built. But still, the blade is only 1095 steel which, while good, isn't exactly a super steel, and the shape (good for stabbing) isn't a great knife for slashing. In other words, it's a good self defense knife and is wonderfully designed for that purpose, but for utility it's also overpriced. For that price it's only sharpened on one side, which, for a pig sticker is unusual. (The Cold Steel OSS is designed for the same thing, is double bladed and sharpened on both sides.) The TOPS WILD PIG HUNTER is a beautiful knife with a beautiful leather sheath (which I wish was black).
It comes sharp and the biggest changes I'd make in it are: 1) that I'd make it double edged, not single edged; 2) I'd give it more of a broad cutting edge up front; 3) and I'd upgrade the steel to a good grade of stainless steel or, 4) I'd lower the price. The 1085 is carbon steel and it's tougher than 1095, but the edge retention of 1095 is better. If you're going to be beating up on the blade, go with 1085; however, for the price of this pig sticker ($169 as of 11/2020), most people are going to be cutting with it. Thus the price could be lowered and the steel improved, bringing the price down to about $145 with 1095 (carbon) or AUS10 (stainless). Me, I'd go with the latter.

Good blade, well balanced
Good for general purpose use, probably better than Marine KaBar in a fight. Balance is good, handle could be a bit beefier, but it’s not too small to get a good grip. I’d recommend it over most GP knives as long as you don’t need weight for chopping.

blade maker/collector
I do like Tops knives and always checked them out at the NSSF Shot Shows. However this style looks like they copied the Kizlyar Phoenix 1 which is a Russian Military/Combat Blade made in Dagestan, Russia. I have one in my collection and love it. It is comfortable in hand, well balanced, sharp and swift to be put into action. It is also a great blade for slashing, thrusting and piercing.
I give this Tops Knife a five because of how much I love the Phoenix 1. I would like Tops to do their version of the Voron (Raven) 3 style and see what they come up with. I say to all that wants a great blade to buy this from Tops. It took me many years to get my original Kizlyar Phoenix 1. You can get the Tops much sooner.
