Capt. Wa's Review of Torrey Pines Logic T12-M Mini Thermal Imager
If you have a light or laser on your pistol the beam points two ways. Why give up your advantage? This model can sit on a Z style mount from your bottom Pic-rail. I don't know about direct slide mount. I knew the screen was small going into this but my old eyes can focus without glasses at pistol holding distance.
You will have to practice starting and calibrating to get the time down to 15 seconds. Your tritium sights will cover that time frame. Humans within 10-20 yards are personally recognizable as are pets vs critters. It doesn't help as much as I thought it would for movement while scanning. This may improve with practice. Latent image can be a problem at times and requires re-calibration. The 15 second delay again. Outdoors this model has an easy 100 yard coyote detection range on a pitch black country night.
The program interface is easy to master and access. Ergonomics are good as is size factor. I think it's at a good price point considering almost a three fold price increase for anything better. I'll be testing on a 1000+ mile boat trip as a night navigation aid next.
Torrey Pines has just about wrung this generation lepton to the max. I can't wait to see what develops!
