Most Helpful Positive Review T-12-M from Torry Pines Logic
If you have a light or laser on your pistol the beam points two ways. Why give up your advantage? This model can sit on a Z style mount from your bottom Pic-rail. I don't know about direct slide mount. I knew the screen was small going into this but my old eyes can focus without glasses at pistol h...

Most Helpful Negative Review Great idea. Bad applocation.
Screen is far too small. Otherwise very cool. Bought this for my wife for her pistol caliber carbine. The refresh rate is too slow and unclear to use effectively to identify targets. The range is exaggerated greatly as well.

IF YOU CANT SEE THE SCREEN..GET A MAGNIFIER

by BIG DADDY CAT, from OK, United States Written on December 30, 2018
I bought my T12-M when it first went on market..I payed about $600. Which is a very good price compared to any other thermal imager, especially one equiped with a adjustable redical and quick release Weaver attachment, four color schemes...flip up magnifiers are cheap.
Pros:
  • Peek around or over walls without also sticking your head out to find hidden enemy gunman
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Combat, Defense, Hunting, Law enforcement

Thermal sight

by Jerry, from DE, United States Written on November 13, 2018
I thought it would be cool to own a thermal but didn't want to spend 2 thousand and up so I got the little one for 600 bucks, it is kinda cool but think its only worth about $200. I'm Saving for the hi dollar one now and waiting for the prices to come down.
Pros:
  • does advertised job
Cons:
  • Needs a bigger screen
Best Used for:
  • In home defense and checking for warm air leacks

My go to night vision device.

by Boyd, from TN, United States Written on May 12, 2017
I`ve had this T12-M imager for a year and a half or so. I also bought the vertical grip that they offered. It resides in my nightstand drawer, but is sighted in for my AR that is close by too. I also own a high dollar thermal rifle scope that lives on one of my other bolt rifles. This T12 is what I grab when the dog barks at night. I find it to be superior when I need thermal quickly, start up is fast enough. The small screen was not hard to get used to and is actually an advantage as it has a small light signature on your end and doesn`t wash out my night vision like my IR NV does. I can identify my dog, cat, rabbits, and people easily at 50 yrds, not so much with even 3rd gen IR NV stuff. Things can hide in the bushes, but thermal finds them. As soon as I get a little saved up, I`ll buy another one.

Small but exceeds advertised capability

by DeltaVictor75 in NC, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on April 15, 2017
The capability of this unit is only limited to the size of the screen. I have been able to detect livestock in my open pastures at distances exceeding one hundred seventy five yards. You will also be able to detect the heat signature if an animal has been resting or stationary in a location for a period of time. Overall, it works great, I do wish the screen were a little larger, but if the display were any bigger, it would also give off quite a bit of visible light as well.
Pros:
  • Price
  • capability
Cons:
  • small screen

Thermal for Home Defense - A True 24/7 Sight

by sling-hog, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on January 28, 2017
You might have many firearms but how many of them can you use effectively 24 hours a day.
Sure you have a light on the end of your firearm for night use but what if you could have the upper hand in any and all encounters at night in your house.
I put this small thermal sight on the top rail of my AR rifle on a 45 degree pic rail next to my red dot. Much like a 45 degree iron backup sight.

When I first was unboxed it and was using it I wished the screen was 2X bigger, but the more I used it I found it to be a good size to quickly transition from the thermal to the red dot.

It also comes with a built-in reticle you can put on the screen that you can turn on or off. You can choose from a box or a chevron. I like red chevron.
You can even move the reticles up/down and left/right.

Would I use the built-in reticle to shoot something 50 yards away? NO
Would I use the built-in reticle to shoot something 15 feet away? YES

It comes with a battery but it died on me in about 30 minutes, but I had a fresh CR123 and using it for hours and still close to 100%.

Only real CON for the product is the battery cap. Its sorta flimsy. I'm always worried of cross threading it.
