Have owned all Metal, Brass and Wool and these Tipton plastic snap caps. The metal ones are not snug enough and fall out easily and I am always concerned that even when sprayed with Rem Oil, the wool ones might retain some moisture. The plastic Tipton ones are just snug enough to stay put and funtion as advertised to protect the firing pin spring when dry firing. I have heard that the narrower small caliber ones do not hold up with use, but I have not seen that with the shotgun ones. An added feature is that they are the least expensive of the three types.
