Most Helpful Positive Review SRS with Killflash
I purchased my SRS and tried it out on some sunny days, cloudy days, rainy days, and snowy days. I really liked it but the reflection of the interior caused me to by the Killflash which not only makes it not reflect the interior to me but also eliminates those down range from seeing it to. Great add...

Most Helpful Negative Review Overall good, but several noteworthy problems
This review is of 2 Quick-release SRS mounts - 1 I sent back due to the problems listed below (at Trijicon's recommendation), and the 2nd sight was identical. So all problems are design flaws that almost certainly apply to every SRS sight. First, the good. Overall, I am choosing to use this sig...

Well built

by Schmidt, from FL, United States Written on November 12, 2017
Very nice optic extremely rugged and robust red dot. It is crisp and everything on it is nice. The only problems I am having is the fact that it will turn on by itself on which is aggravating because if it’s turned on it will drain the battery but at the same time the battery will last three years on the lower settings but still just knowing that kind of aggravates me also you can’t just use any AA battery it has to be a energizer ultimate lithium battery or it will shut off when your shooting due to the fact that all other AA batteries are just slightly smaller the the Energizer battery.
Pros:
  • Rugged and large area of view for accurate shooting and area awareness.
Cons:
  • Price compared to the aimpoimt optics and battery life.
Best Used for:
  • Home defense or quick acquisition shooting.

Excellent red dot...except.

by Matthew, from IN, United States Written on May 20, 2016
Quality! Built like a tank without the bulk. The reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because of what I felt was a significant detail not included in the specs.

Manufacturer's video showed the SRS operating in daylight without the battery installed. Perfect, that's what I wanted! When mine arrived I headed off the the gun range to get it sighted in. NO RED DOT! I found it hard to believe I received a dud from a quality company like Trijicon. I pack up and head back home to give Trijicon support a call. SRS REQUIRES a battery to power up. Once it is powered up and in bright sun, the battery can be removed. BUMMER! If I had know that I would have went with the ACOG instead.

I have shot two #-gun matches with the SRS. The SRS worked like a charm, even on the 200 yard targets. Again, quality built and excellent sight. Just wish spec and my research had turned up the battery requirement before I had purchased.

Fantastic unit but...

by Matthew, from IN, United States Written on December 11, 2014
Built like a rock. Easy to site in with my Ruger SR556. Simple easy to use. Trijicon quality.

BUT.

The main reason I purchase this unit was because of the solar power. SHTF or TEOFTAWKI it could be used during the day without the need for a battery, at least that WAS my plan.

WRONG!

Unit requires a battery to power up, then the battery can be removed. Nowhere in Trijicon's description do they mention this. I found out when I called their Tech support thinking I had a defective unit. If I had know this prior to my purchase I would have bought their ACOG scope instead.

Internal Reflections

by n1butch, from NY, United States Written on September 10, 2014
When the SRS showed up at my door I was instantly excited. Here is my impressions: Some good, some critically bad.

FOV is excellent! I have used H1/T1s, EoTechs, and Acogs. Of the group I feel the fastest with the SRS.
The weight and size people generally complain about does not bother me.

BUT....
Mine SRS has a horrible reflection making the sight painful to use in direct sunlight or even on overcast days.

AWESOME OPTIC

by PJDSR, from TX, United States Written on August 26, 2014
LIGHT OR NO LIGHT, YOU HAVE A RED DOT. SOLAR POWERED DAYTIME, BATTERY BACKUP FOR NIGHT. I'VE PURCHASED 6 OF THESE NOW; THEY ARE JUST FANTASTIC. I'VE PUT ONE ON AR'S, AR PISTOL, SBR'S, AND MY FAVORITE VARMIT 10/22 RABBIT SLAYER. WANT TO DRESS IT UP? PUT A QD MOUNT ON IT AND MOVE IT AROUND....

Update

by Matthew, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on April 25, 2014
Full sunlight without battery, no red dot.
Full sunlight with battery, red dot.
Do I have a defective unit? Trijicon said unit is not defective. Unit requires a battery to power up in sunlight. Once the SRS is powered up then you can remove the battery and still have a red dot.

Bummer. I was planning on using during daylight with no battery.

Great red dot

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on July 18, 2013
Great red dot sight with adjustable red-dot brightness. Outstanding field of view that makes up for its over-sized displacement. You may not want to go with the anti-reflective accessory since you will see the honeycomb very clearly because the sight is 1x. Dust covers are a must though...
Pros: battery life
Cons: size. anti-reflective is visible since its only a 1x.
