monaskon's Review of Trijicon 4x32 BAC ACOG Rifle Scope
This is a great scope. Target acquisition is fast, the left/right bullet drop horizonatal has marks are easy to understand, and 4X is fine for what is essentially a short to medium range cartrige. But, sadly, I decided to return it. The reason is that Trijicon created the bullet drops based on a standard length 16" barrel chambered for 300 AAC Blackout. My 300 AAC is a Liberty Suppressor's 'Leonidis', an excellent and very quiet AR upper (far better than Daniel Defence's verison), but their design is based on an 8" barrel permanently affixed to their Leonidis suppressor. When I zeroed the gun with Hornady 110 VTAC's, the 220 grain subsonics ended up 5" high (and oddly a bit to the left). So this isn't Trijicon's fault, just a limitation of buying a scope that is based on certain parameters. What I will in all likelihood do is buy a Nikon scope from OpticsPlanet, probably a Monarch, and pocket the savings. I will then use Nikon's 'spoton' bullet drop calculator to get the gun reasonably well zeroed, then have to write down the actual bullet drops at different ranges using experience. If you have a 300 AAC with a 16" barrel, don't hesitate to buy this scope, it is wonderful.
