Bill S's Review of Trijicon AccuPower RS-24 1-4x24mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane (SFP)

While I love a light weight TA-31 Acog paired with an RMR, as much as the next guy, i couldn’t afford for do I need a 1k + optic on every rifle I own. Nor do I want the price tags or hearty 34oz w/mount 1-8x accupower to lug around. As, even with mount this is half the cost& 8-10oz heavier w/mount as it sits on the rifle. The glass is very good. It’s not as clear as the acog, but I would never expect it to be, and is very much a barging at under 600$ for a carbine that will do every thing well but nothing spectacular. The complaints of its made I. Japan, are amusing. As many quality scopes come out of Japan, if a little research was done on the users part. Knobs are not ultra crisp and not mush either. Middle ground but given it’s a BDC reticle, it’s set it and forget it so non issue, at least for me. While reticle could be brighter, I think it’s more than usable in most lighting conditions, except the brightest day, which the reticle being etched works fine. As the reticle is always crisp and well defined, which I prefer over a bloom or an excessively lit scope. Overall. This is 1/2 scopes I’m going to buy a second of as it’s a nice little optic that scores high in most areas, as I think it’s unfair to hold a $600 scope to the same standards your hold a Night force nx8 so realistically speaking I feel this a good overall value, quality construction, solid feel, good bdc reticle. My only gripe which is more of a preference is it wouldn’t kill Trijicon to include the extended throw level or st very least a coupon to get one at a ample discount with purchase of this optic. However, that’s a preference & it seems more don’t include one than do. If in market for a quality scope with a moderate price, this would at least be worth considering.
Pros:
  • good glass
  • Nice reticle
  • Solid well built
Cons:
  • see above.
