Mike's Review of Trijicon HD Walther P99/PPQ/PPQ M2 Heavy Duty Night Sight Set w/Yellow Front Outline
I prefer a fairly minimalist sight picture and these deliver. The subdued dots on the back sight aren't a distraction during daylight or at well-lit indoor ranges. I prefer the green front sight for action pistol shooting. To me, it seems that red/orange dominates the sight picture but that will be entirely shooters preference. Luckily Trijicon offers this sight in both so we can decide.
The tritium lamps offer just enough glow to assist with sight pickup during low light shooting without drowning the sight picture.
Installation on the Walther PPQ was very easy. There are some good videos on YouTube that demonstrate the process. Simply push down on the spring-loaded detent under the rear sight, and slide it off (from right to left). You will reuse the adjustment screw that is installed on the stock Walther sight. Once the adjustment screw is in place, slip the Trijicon HD on the slide and lock it into place with the spring-loaded detent. The front sight replacement is VERY easy since it is held in place with a screw. The tool is the same size as "The Glock Tool."
I installed this sight set on a PPQ 45. I prefer a 6'o clock hold and this sets that up very nicely. The point of impact is about half-an-inch above the point of aim at 11 yards.
