The HD is FAR better than the original.
Pros:
clear glass, no magnification, works perfectly under magnification, two reticle options, looks great, ambi controls, etc.
Cons:
When using the single dot you can slightly notice the outter ring under certain lighting (not a big deal honestly, it disappeares when using a magnifier), the battery life is less which is BS (why?) Roughly 20k hours.
