BB's Review of Trijicon Bright & Tough Night Sights

I prefer these to the Trijicon HD sights which I have on my S&W M&P, because these offer a crisp three-dot sight picture, day or night. These fit exactly as replacements for the polymer originals, but are clearly tougher metal. You'll need a thin-wall 3/16" socket to tighten the front sight, which has a very thin hex head in a very tight space. I used blue Locktite to keep it in place. The rear sight can be removed and replaced in seconds. You must take out the windage adjustment screw with reverse threads from the original rear sight and put it into the Trijicon rear sight before snapping the sight into place with the plunger pin built into the slide. I used a SightMark laser bore sight cartridge to align windage. This can be done at home by shooting the laser (carefully) across the desired distance, without wasting ammo. A quarter-turn tweak on the windage screw and I was done. Elevation was spot on. Between the easy-to-replace design of the PPQ and the solid three-dot sight picture of the Trijicon sight, this was the best sight replacement experience I've had.
Pros:
  • Three-dot sight picture
Cons:
  • pricey, but you get what you pay for
Best Used for:
  • Defense.
